Guest guest Posted April 10, 2009 Report Share Posted April 10, 2009 In an effort to sensitize the public to the benefits of veganism from the ecological, nutritional and ethical points of view, John Abbott College will be holding its first vegan day celebration, or " Vegan-bration " . Student Jennifer Canty, with the support of John Abbott Environmental Studies, took it upon herself to initiate and personally organize Vegan-bration. The event will feature kiosks from various vegan organizations and companies, free vegan food samples, live music and speakers who are actively involved in some branch of veganism. The day's speakers will include Ironman triathlete and best-selling author Brendan Brazier, vegan Dietician and Nutritionist Anne-Marie Roy, active environmentalist and founder of CARA (Concordia Animal Rights Association) Lucas Solowey, and Abbott teacher and Green Party candidate Ryan Young.
