Guest guest
I followed the link that was provided, and read the article;what I do not see is a link between democracy and eating meat. Perhaps the thrust of your comment was that the eating of meat leads to poor leadership decisions in elected and appointed officials.I prefer to think that human beings are capable of making poor choices weather they be vegan, vegetarian or carnivorous. The article talked of rights, and yes rights were indeed trampled by police and other officials-yet little was said about the rights of others that the protesters trampled:The right to not have your business vandalized, for one-and there was much more of that than the writer oh so delicately indicated. The police were indeed dressed for trouble,as was the Harry Potter look alike. And I suspect there were more carnivores than vegans in the mob of protesters-that in the end is what they lowered themselves to-a mob.Is this then, the mentality that should be held up and praised?Mob mentality?Or are there perhaps better ways to effect change? Scenario:World leaders arrange to meet at a certain time and place. This meeting is made public knowledge.World leaders also decide that few,if any precautions or protective measures need be taken. End result:I suspect that we'd be short some world leaders. My point is that BOTH sides, police AND protesters had dirty hands here.
