Guest guest Posted January 9, 2002 Report Share Posted January 9, 2002 Gluten Stroganoff Source: You Can't Get Mad Vegan Disease (adapted) 3 tablespoons vegan margarine 1 tablespoon grated onion 1 cup sliced mushrooms 1 1/2 cups gluten pieces -- thinly sliced 1/4 cup nonalcoholic white wine* 1 cup soy buttermilk** Saute onion and mushrooms in margarine. Add gluten pieces and flavor with a pich of salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add non-alcoholic wine and buttermilk and heat through. Serve over noodles or rice. * 1 tablespoon of umeboshi paste mixed with 4 tablespoons water gives the same tast as wine. ** Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a cup of soy milk. Let sit for a few minutes until it clabbers.
