Try it with Korean Beef and steamed rice for a traditional dinner. When preparing the asparagus, snap off the woody bottoms at their natural breaking point. Cuisine: Korea Prep Time: 10 Minutes Cooking Time: 5 Minutes Yield: 4 Servings Source: Chef Shelley Young, EG Culinary Council -- Ingredients - 1/4 cup(s) Vegetable stock 2 tablespoon(s) Korean sesame oil 2 tablespoon(s) Dark soy sauce 2 tablespoon(s) Peanut oil 1 pound(s) Asparagus, fresh, washed with woody ends removed -- Instructions Cut asparagus into 1½-inch diagonal cuts. Preheat a wok or deep skillet until searing hot. Add peanut oil and immediately follow with asparagus; sauté for 1 minute. Add sesame oil, soy sauce, and chicken stock. Cover and cook for approximately 3–4 more minutes. Remove lid and transfer asparagus onto a platter. Boil remaining pan liquid down to reduce it to a thick glaze.
