THE VEGETARIAN BURGER (BIG MAC)

 

For binding:

Whiz ½ c. soaked garbanzo beans in ½ c. water

1 c. rolled oats, uncooked

1 c. walnuts, chopped-fine

1 onion, med.

4 T. soy milk

½ t. sage

1 T. soy sauce

 

 

Whiz garbanzos and water in blender. Put binder in a bowl. Add the rest of

ingredients and mix well. Drop from spoon or ice-cream scoop into oiled

skillet. Flatten with spoon to form patties. Brown on both sides. Serive in

burger buns with all the trimmings or in casserole dish with gravy over top,

baking 3o min. at 350. Makes 6 large patties.

 

NOTE: to soak dry garbanzo beans cover with water and let stand overnight.

Soak garbanzos ahead, drain, and store in freezer for recipe use.
