Guest guest Posted January 15, 2002 Report Share Posted January 15, 2002 Muardarah--Lentils with Rice 1 tsp. Cumin 1 3/4 tsp. Salt (or to taste) 6 c. Water 2 c. Rice (brown) 1 c. Lentils 3/4 tsp. Garlic Powder 1 1/2 tsp. Curry (powder) 2 Onions (chopped) Combine lentils, rice, water and seasoning in a pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, put on a tight fitting lid, and simmer for 50 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. While the rice is cooking, chop the onions and saute in oil until they are tender. Mix the onions into the rice and lentils. Serve. Language is an expression of thought.
