Guest guest
Tofu Walnut Patties 1/2 lb Tofu (firm) 1 c. Oats (dry, quick cooking) 1 c. Bread Crumbs (whole wheat) 1/3 c. Vital Wheat Gluten Flour 1 Onion (chopped) 1/2 c. Walnuts (finely chopped) 1 1/2 tsp. Beef Flavored Seasoning 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder 1 tsp. Salt 2 tsp. Savory (or favorite herb) 1 c. Water (more or less depending on tofu) Crumble tofu into fine pieces similar to cottage cheese. Combine oats, bread crumbs, and gluten flour together and add tofu. Add remaining ingredients and mix well (I usually use my hands to mix it). Be careful with the water and add only as much as you need to make a good mix that is not too wet. Fry slowly until golden-brown or bake on an oil-coated cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. Makes about 12 large patties or 16 smaller patties. These patties are good used as burgers or may be served with your favorite gravy.
