Guest guest
Falafel - (Middle East) 1 can Garbanzos (15.5 oz) 1/4 c. Oats (quick) 1/4 c. Parsley (fresh) 1/2 t. Coriander (powder) 1 t. Salt (or less) 1 t. Cumin (powder) Drain all liquid from the canned Garbanzoes. Chop all ingredients together in food processor. This may taste too salty with 1 teaspoon of salt, but once you put it into a pocket bread with other things, it tastes fine. Form into little patties and fry in non-stock fry pan or bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes (turn patties over after 15 minutes). May also deep fry them in oil, but they taste just fine baked or fried without oil in a non-stick fry pan. Serve in pocket bread with freshly sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce or sprouts, and a mayonnaise or Italian type spread.
