Guest guest
Suman-Sticky Rice Roll Dessert - Filipino 6 Banana Leaves cut in about 8-inch squares 6 c. Rice (sweet) 1 tsp. Salt 1 c. Maple Syrup 2 c. Coconut Milk 1 c. Water Put rice into rice cooker and rinse only once. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover rice cooker and let it cook until it automatically turns off. Take out the cooked sticky rice from the rice cooker. Spread a cup of rice on each banana leaf; roll it all the way and fold both ends of the leaf to close it. Then steam them in a double pan steamer for about 10 minutes. Let cool in refrigerator and serve with ripe mangoes. Note: The banana leaves and sticky rice are available at Oriental stores. The banana leaves give a nice flavor to the Suman and are not intended to be eaten. The Suman may also be placed in the freezer and heated by placing in the Microwave.
