Guest guest Posted March 11, 2002 Report Share Posted March 11, 2002 Golden Nuggets Source: The Oats, Peas, Beans & Barley Cookbook 2 cups soaked, yellow split peas 3/4 cup water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon sweet basil 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1 1/2 cups savory crumbs (previously posted last week) Measure 1 1/2 cups soaked peas, combine with water and seasonings and blend until very fine. Add remaining 1/2 cup of soaked peas whole or chop or grind medium-coarse before adding. Dip with tablespoon and drop in bowl of crumbs, making one " nugget " at a time. Roll over to coat on all sides. Bake in medium-hot (350 degrees F) ungreased, covered skillet or baking dish -10 minutes. Turn. Bake 10 minutes more, reduce heat and let cook 5 or 10 additional minutes.
