Guest guest
Brazilian rice Serves 4 1½tbsp oil 1 clove of crushed garlic 2tbsp finely chopped onion 1½ cups short grain rice 3 cups water Salt to taste Heat oil and add the garlic and onion. Let is fry for 2-3 minutes until light brown. Wash the rice and add it to the onion, sprinkle salt. Let it fry until the water has evaporated and then add the water. Bring it to boil and then reduce the heat to low, cover and let the rice simmer for about 20 minutes or until the water has evaporated. Remove the rice from heat and let it stand with the lid on for another 15-20 minutes. Stir the rice slightly and serve it warm. Suggestion: Water can be replaced with stock of your choice and remember to avoid the salt as the ready-made stock cubes generally have it. Language is an expression of thought.
