Guest guest
Tip of the Day----The Peanut Butter (And Jelly) Alternative Here in the U.S. we tend to think of chestnuts as something to eat only in stuffing or roasting over the proverbial open fire. But in Italy chestnuts are a popular and important part of the daily diet--roasted, grilled, steamed, boiled, sweetened, and even raw--you name it, the Italians eat it. A particular favorite is their rich Chestnut Cream, which comes in a jar and is now available in many import stores. Try it on toast instead of butter or peanut butter. Try it on a waffle instead of syrup. It has a rich suggestion of vanilla extract, but it has a flavor all its own.
