Source: Better Homes and Gardens 1 cup dry white wine or white grape juice 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger 4 cups cantaloupe balls 2 cups honeydew balls Crystallized ginger (optional) 1. In a small saucepan combine the white wine or white grape juice, sugar, and fresh ginger. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Strain ginger from mixture. Discard ginger. Chill, covered, for 2 to 24 hours. 2. Before serving, in a medium mixing bowl combine cantaloupe, honeydew, and white wine or grape juice mixture. Toss gently to coat. To serve, divide mixture evenly among 6 cups or bowls. Garnish with strips of crystallized ginger, if desired. Makes 6 servings. Make-Ahead Tip: Prepare the syrup; cover and chill 2 to 24 hours.
