Serve warm with ice cream, if desired. Cinnamon may be used in place of nutmeg. Servings: 8Ingredients:1 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup white sugar1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder1/2 cup milk1/4 cup butter, softened1/4 cup packed brown sugar1 tablespoon cornstarch1/2 cup cold water3 cups fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced1 cup fresh blueberries1 tablespoon butter1 tablespoon lemon juice2 tablespoons coarse granulated sugar1/4 teaspoon ground nutmegDirections:1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).2. Stir together flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, and baking powder. Add milk and 1/4 cup butter or margarine all at once. Stir until smooth, and set batter aside.3. In a medium saucepan, stir together brown sugar and cornstarch; stir in water. Add peaches and blueberries. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Add 1 tablespoon butter or margarine and lemon juice; stir until fat melts. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart ungreased casserole. Spoon batter in mounds over hot fruit; spread evenly over filling. Sprinkle with a mixture of 2 tablespoons coarse sugar and nutmeg or cinnamon.4. Place casserole dish on a shallow baking pan in oven.
