Guest guest Posted August 30, 2002 Report Share Posted August 30, 2002 Guacamole Prep Time: 20 minutes Ingredients 1/3 cup finely chopped onion 2 medium ripe avocados, pitted and peeled 1 medium tomato or plum tomato, diced 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro 1-1/2 teaspoons seeded and minced serrano chile 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon Mexican oregano, crushed Directions: 1. Rinse onion in a sieve under hot water for 1 minute; drain and pat dry on paper towels. 2. Coarsely mash avocados with a fork in a medium bowl. Stir in onion and remaining ingredients. Makes 8 servings (2 cups). (Nutrition facts are based on 1/4 cup per serving.)
