Guest guest Posted August 30, 2002 Report Share Posted August 30, 2002 Peach CobblerServings: 6Ingredients:3 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 1/2 cups white sugar1/2 cup shortening1 cup white sugar1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour2 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup milk2 cups boiling water3 tablespoons butterDirections:1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10x10 inch baking dish.2. Stir together peaches with cinnamon and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Set aside.3. In a medium bowl, cream together shortening and 1 cup sugar. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Pour into prepared pan. Top with peach mixture. Drop butter in boiling water and pour all over peaches.4. Bake in preheated oven 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown.
