NEWTON® Baked Apples

Ready in :1 hr 15 min

 

Ingredients:

6 medium apples

 

12 NEWTONS Fat Free Fig Fruit Chewy Cookies, coarsely chopped

 

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

 

1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel

 

2 tsp. margarine or butter

 

1 cup unsweetened apple juice

 

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

 

 

Preparation:

Core apples, removing seeds and pulp to make 1-1/4-inch wide cavity. Peel off

strip around top of each apple.

 

Mix chopped cookies, cinnamon and lemon peel. Spoon into apple cavities; press

filling firmly into each cavity.

 

Place apples in 13x9-inch baking dish. Dot tops of apples with margarine. Mix

apple juice and lemon juice; drizzle over apples.

 

Bake at 350°F for 45 to 55 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm.
