Guest guest Posted October 9, 2002 Report Share Posted October 9, 2002 Irish Stew 1 can Multigrain Cutlets cut into bite size pieces (dredge in seasoned flour; 1 tsp salt, 3 Tbls flour; 1/8 tsp pepper; 1 tsp lemon pepper) Heat 3 to 4 Tbls shortening in stew pot. Add cutlets; browning slightly. Add 1/3 cup chopped onion. Saute for 3 or 4 more minutes. 1 cup diced turnip (can substitute parsnips) 1 large stalk of celery, cut small 1/2 cup carrots, cut in 1/2 inch pieces 3 medium size potatoes 2 small fresh tomatoes peeled and quartered 1 cup shredded cabbage 5 cups cold water Cook covered 1 1/2 hours simmering gently.
