Guest guest
Easy Flavored Nuts You can easily turn your favorite nut into a special treat to suit your taste. Simply take shelled, raw nuts and toss them in a heavy sauté pan, such as a cast-iron skillet, along with some butter, oil, or olive oil. Sprinkle with herbs or spices to your liking and toss and cook them for a few minutes, until the nuts become coated and lightly browned. Turn the nuts out onto a foil- or parchment-lined pan in a single layer until cooled. Pack in airtight containers. Here are some suggestions: Toss cashews with butter, curry powder, and cumin. Combine pecans with oil and chili powder. Toss walnuts in butter and season with salt and rosemary. Toast macadamia nuts, coat them with butter, add salt, and combine with flaked coconut. For great color and a chew texture, add dried bits of mango. Combine mixed nuts with oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger. Combine mixed nuts with butter, a little sugar, and pumpkin spice. Cook until the sugar melts and coats the nuts. Start out conservatively, and use you judgment to determine the amounts. You can always add a little more salt or spice if you want to kick up the flavor a notch. Language is an _expression of thought.
