Guest guest
Drop Biscuits These biscuits are easy -- with the investment of just a little time, even the novice cook can serve a batch of freshly baked biscuits from scratch! Enjoy them with your favorite soup. 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/3 cup shortening 1 cup buttermilk 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet; set aside. 2. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, and soda. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk, stirring just until moistened. Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet. 3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm. Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
