Ramadan Recipes: Beets in Orange Sauce

Beets in Orange Sauce

2 tablespoons margarine

2tablespoons flour

3/4 cup water

1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind

3/4 cup orange juice

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoons sugar

3 1/2cups cooked beets, sliced

 

Melt margarine in saucepan; stir in flour and blend

well Add water slowly; blend. Add orange rind, juice,

salt, pepper, and sugar. Cook, stirring constantly,

until thickened. Add beets and heat thoroughly.

Makes 8 servings.
