Guest guest
Hello all, We found that our child was having some sort of ongoing low-level allergy or possible gluten exposure from canned beans. We were using Westbrae (sp?) and another of the organic brands (I can't remember right now). Thought I'd put this out there as a heads up - it may be possible that there is a very small cross-contamination or that there is something used in the cans themselves causing the allergic reaction. This was a fun one to track down, let me tell ya! Guest guest
Lunchtime Rice and Beans In the morning just before you rush out the door for work, combine in a plastic container: 1 cup (before cooking) of brown rice that you've cooked before. (This is a great way to use leftover rice!) 1/2 medium can of Italian-spiced tomatoes 1/2 bunch parsley 1/2 small can brown beans (vegetarian version) 6-12 fresh mushrooms When you're ready for lunch at the office, Mix and microwave for 3 minutes at high. ===== Language is an expression of thought. Guest guest
Raven Is you chid soy intolerant as well as the gluten? I am asking because when my son was first diagnosed with soy allergy and we hadn't begun avoidance yet, we found he couldn't tolerate anything in the same botanical family - ie all legumes. Pulses were fine, but legumes were not. BL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does Yhwh Elohim require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and To walk humbly with your Elohim. Guest guest
>Pulses were fine, but legumes were not. BL How do you distinguish pulses from legumes? It has long been my understanding that pulses is just another name for legume, meaning dried beans, peas, lentils etc. Deborah
Guest guest
No pulses are the " fruit " of certain grasses. Lentils are a kind of pulse. Larger beans like soy, chickpea, grabanzo, etc. are legumes. I can find a more technical explanation if that would help.... Guest guest
Hi BL, No, he seems to do fine with soy. He also seems to do fine with beans, now that I'm making them from dried beans and not using the canned beans. ~Raven , " Keith & Brenda-Lee Olson " <kolson99@u...> wrote: > Raven > > Is you chid soy intolerant as well as the gluten?
