Guest guest Posted February 17, 2003 Report Share Posted February 17, 2003 Orange Nut Loaf Ingredients 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoon orange rind 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats Glaze 2 teaspoons juice 1 tablespoon sugar Method Stir flour, baking powder and salt together. Cream butter; add sugar gradually, beating between additions. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add orange rind. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition; fold in nuts. Pour into a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 F) 50 - 60 minutes. Cool ten minutes; mix orange juice and sugar together for glaze and spread on loaf with a pastry brush. Return loaf to oven for 1 minute.
