Blood Oranges

The bright red color of the flesh of blood oranges most certainly helps give

them their name. They have a slightly tart flavor.

Many entrees pair well with sauces made from the juice of blood oranges. Maltese

sauce is a blood orange juice and zest-flavored Hollandaise. Serve it over

asparagus or green beans.

Do try to find them. They have a wonderful flavor, very aromatic scent.

I'm in So CAl and I seldom see blood oranges. They are delicious

when available. Luckily a friend has a tree so I do get them now

and then.
