Deep Frying

 

To avoid greasy fried foods, make sure your oil is at the correct temperature

before adding the food.

 

The best way to check this is with an instant read thermometer.

 

Make sure you use the type that reads up to the 500-degree range.

 

Some thermometers only go to 220.

 

In a pinch, you can dip the tip of a wooden chopstick into pre-heated oil.

 

When the oil begins to bubble around the tip it is usually close to 360 degrees.
