A large pot with a lid and a colander make a great

steaming combo in a pinch.

 

Make sure that the water level stays below the

bottom of the colander.

 

To avoid burns, use tongs to remove the cooked foods.

 

Using ingredients like various herbs in the steaming

basket can add flavors to the items cooked.
