Guest guest Posted May 1, 2003 Report Share Posted May 1, 2003 Honey Poached Pears Ingredient 10 pears lemon juice 6 cups water 2 cups honey 1/4 cup lemon juice 4 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks whipping cream orange rind strips (optional) Peel pears, leaving stem intact. Trim bottom of each pear to form a flat base. Brush pears with small amount of lemon juice as they are peeled to prevent discoloration. Combine next 4 ingredients in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Add pears; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 25 minutes or until pears are tender. Beat whipping cream until thickened ( but not stiff); pour into a shallow serving dish.
