Bread Pudding (1940's version)

 

2 tablespoons margarine

3 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2-cup sugar

1/2-teaspoon cinnamon,

1/4-teaspoon salt

1-teaspoon vanilla

1-quart milk

3 1/2 cups bread, cubed

1/4 cup of raisins (optional)

 

Preheat oven 350

Melt butter and combine with eggs, sugar, cinnamon, salt,

vanilla and milk.

 

Mix and pour over bread cubes.

 

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until firm.
