Guest guest
Kid's Parties Made Easy *** What Every Party Needs Put the fun back in kids' party planning with these quick hints for success. * The Theme. Every party should have a theme. The kids will be twice as excited, and you'll have twice as much fun planning. This theme could be: the beach, under the sea, pirates, tea party, the zoo, a safari, the farm; one of your child's favorite books, games, movies, cartoons or TV shows, or a vacation your family recently took or would like to take someday. You can ensure that everyone has a fantastic time by getting all the attendees invested in the party: let your child help as much as possible with the planning, shopping, cooking, and decorating, and get all the guests involved by inviting them to wear costumes. * The Cake. No matter your decorating skill and ambition level, you can produce a fantastic birthday cake that's better, not to mention cheaper, than anything you could get at the bakery. Some baking supply shops will rent all sizes and shapes of cake pans for a very reasonable price, including a huge selection of character pans. Get out your phone book and find out if a shop in your area has what you need. If you've got a steady hand with a decorating tip, the world is your oyster. If you dread the prospect of rendering your kid's favorite storybook character in buttercreams, though, you have options. Use plastic toys, action figures, and lightweight scenery (trees, animals, cars, street signs, etcetera) to create a three-dimensional scene on top of the cake. * The Food. For any party that lasts much longer than an hour, it's a good idea to offer something besides cake for the kids to eat, even if you don't plan to provide a full-on meal. If you've got lots of activities planned for the duration, you'll want snacks of the " grab and go " variety so the kids can just gobble a few bites to refuel on their way by. However, kids love to create, and they'll think you're the greatest if you let them assemble their own refreshments. (As a bonus, it will save you some work!) Build-your-own mini pizzas, fruit skewers, mini sandwiches, soft tacos, or ice cream sundaes will all be a hit. ===== *********** My Special Thought To You: There's A Blessin' In Pressin'....On The Upward Way!
