Guest guest Posted May 30, 2003 Report Share Posted May 30, 2003 Asian-style Green Beans Serves 4 Ingredients 1 pound fresh green beans 4 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 tablespoon black mustard seeds 4 garlic cloves, minced 1 dried red chili, crushed 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon sugar black pepper, to taste Directions Trim the beans and cut into 1-inch lengths. Blanch, drain and rinse immediately in cold water. Set aside. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When hot, put in the mustard seeds. When they pop, add the garlic and stir until they begin to darken. Add the chili and stir for a few seconds. Add the beans, salt and sugar. Stir and cook the beans for 7 to 8 minutes.
