Guest guest Posted July 10, 2003 Report Share Posted July 10, 2003 Cranberry Mincemeat Old recipe from Shelburn, Nova Scotia--about 1880 1 cup raisins 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup orange juice 1 Tablespoon lemon juice 2 cups cranberries 1/4 teaspoon cloves 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1 cup chopped apples 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon grated orange rind 1 Tablespoon flour 3/4 cup brown sugar Directions: Bring raisins, water, orange and lemon juice to a boil. Add berries and continue to cook covered until skins begin to pop 2-3 minutes. Add rest and cool. Use in pies at 450 degrees for 10 minutes then at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. ===== *********** My Special Thought To You: There's A Blessin' In Pressin'....On The Upward Way!
