Guest guest
Trish (and all with the same question): " Mastercook format " means a recipe that has been typed up or formatted using the Mastercook program (a software program by Sierra for " recipe management " ) OR a format that Mastercook will " import " (Mealmaster, McBuster, " @@@@@ format " ) which I will explain better in a second. You do not have to have Mastercook to to this list but, yes, I do ask that the recipes posted be in " Mastercook format " for several reasons. The two biggest are (1) For consistency purposes. I have been on other lists where people posted recipes that were just a mess -- incomplete, hard to understand, all mixed up, etc. (not that any of us would ever do that). and (2) Those of us who have Mastercook can easily import the recipes from our mailboxes directly into the cookbook(s) we designate in Mastercook. There is no retyping, formatting, cut & paste, etc. You can still post recipes in " Mastercook format " without having the program. Instead of my trying to explain it, you can learn the " @@@@@ " format (are you listening, Miriam?) by going to this website: http://www.blarg.net/~msrooby/ which will also explain more Mastercook stuff. If you are interested in purchasing this wonder program (no, I don't work for Sierra), right now, the 4.0 version (that I paid $40 for) can be purchased for between $6 to $10 at Best Buy, Comp USA, OfficeMax, etc. A 5.0 version will be out in a few months if you would prefer to wait for that. I hope this explains things better. I think I'll save this post, because this is sure to come up again. Thank you all for joining my new list. I'm so excited! I just started it late Sunday and we already have nearly 100 rs! Karen
