Guest guest Posted March 17, 1999 Report Share Posted March 17, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook II * Allium Soup Recipe By : Mary McDougall Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Mcdougall Soup Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 Medium Onions, Cut In Half And Thinly Sliced 2 Or 3 Leeks, Washed And Thinly Sliced -- white part only 2 Bunches Scallions -- chopped 2 Or 3 Cloves Garlic -- crushed 2 Tsp Minced Fresh Ginger 9 Cups Water 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce Freshly Ground Black Pepper -- to taste Pinch Ground Cayenne Place the onions, leeks, scallions,garlic, and ginger in a large soup pot with 1 cup of the water. Cook, stirring over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for another 55 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
