Guest guest Posted March 21, 1999 Report Share Posted March 21, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook II * Mushroom Gravy Recipe By : Mary McDougall Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Gravy Mushroom Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 Lb Mushrooms -- chopped 2 Leeks -- sliced 1 Tsp Thyme 1 Tbs Salt Reduced Tamari 2 1/4 Cups Water 1 Tsp Oregano 5 Tbs Arrowroot Or Cornstarch Saute the mushrooms and leeks in 1/4 cup water with the oregano and thyme for 10 minutes. Mix the arrowroot or cornstarch and tamari with 2 cups of cold water. Add to the mushroom leek mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until it thickens (about 20 minutes). Helpful hints: Use 1 chopped onion if no leeks are available.
