Guest guest Posted March 26, 1999 Report Share Posted March 26, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook II * Grilled Portabella Mushrooms Recipe By : Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Grill Portabellas Sandwiches Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 Large Portabella Mushroom Caps -- 5 " diameter 1 Large Onion 1 Large Green Pepper 4 Burger Buns 1 Cup Tamari Soy Sauce 3/4 Cup Sugar 1 Tbs Fresh Minced Ginger Or- 1 1/2 Tsp Dry Ginger 4 To 6 Cloves Garlic -- crushed 2 1/2 Cups Water Wash mushroom caps. Mix ingredients for marinade. (Tamari, sugar, ginger and water.) Marinate mushrooms for 1/2 to several hours (or overnight in the refrigerator.) Core and quarter green pepper. Preheat the grill to medium heat. Thickly slice the onion, separate into rings and saute in water or veggie broth. Grill the green pepper until browned and tender. Grill the mushrooms until cooked through, approximately 10-15 minutes. Serve each mushroom cap on a bun with a slice of green pepper and sauteed onions. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : *I have not tried this one yet.
