Guest guest Posted April 10, 1999 Report Share Posted April 10, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook * Garlic-Lover's Pasta Recipe By : Cooking Light, March 1999 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons olive oil 5 garlic cloves -- crushed 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1 28-ounce can italian-style tomatoes -- undrained and -- coarsely chopped 4 cups hot cooked linguine -- (about 8 ounces -- uncooked pasta) 1/4 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese -- (1 ounce) Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add garlic; saut, 1 minute. Add basil, salt, peppers, and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken. Serve over pasta; top with cheese. Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 cup pasta, 1/2 cup sauce, and 1 tablespoon cheese).
