Hi,

I am new to the list, and do not know if I am allowed to ask questions, or just

post recipes, but I am looking for recipes for my finicky kids. I have tryed

many recipes and they do not seem to go for any of them. I want to get them off

meat at least part of the week..thank you.

Hi, Sue!

Sure -- you can ask questions and post recipe requests -- anything having to

do with recipes, cooking, food, cookbooks, etc.

Boy do I know what you mean about picky kids. My stepsons are absolutely

the pickiest eaters I have ever known. They are both teenagers now, but eat

like toddlers. The oldest is 17, almost 18, and only likes about 5 foods. They

are *not* vegetarian, but are " anti-vegetarian " and *try* to blame my vegetarian

cooking on *their* food problem. It's infuriating to say the least.

However, I actually have made some things that they like (maybe 1 of every

100 thing I make), and I will post those recipes for you later. Of course, your

kids may like the opposite. How old are they and what kind of foods do they

like, generally?

Here's something easy, easy, easy, to start with: Get a can of " vegetarian

beans " (like baked beans but veggie version) and some veggie " hot dogs " (I like

Morningstar Farms brand), and cut up the hot dogs, add to canned beans, and heat

up -- a vegetarian " franks & beans " . My husband has been making this for my

stepsons (they know I would never even come near a meat thing), and they think

they've been eating " real " hot dogs. <g>

Welcome to Veg-Recipes!! Hope you enjoy it.
