cooking rice in a colander

I saw rice being cooked in a colander, over a pot of steaming water. This was

from one of Graham Kerr's cooking shows. He said he'd talk about it later,

but never got around to it.

 

Anyone know how to do this?

PS I seem to recall there was no lid on the pot, but it may have been removed

for the viewers.
