What is Hominy?

Georgina wrote & asked me what hominy is. She's from Canada and

says she has never seen it there. Well, Georgina, some people in the

U.S. north of the Mason-Dixon line don't know what hominy is either, so

here's a link with the definition, etc.. Hominy is made from corn and

grits (another Southern staple) are made from hominy. Hominy is sold in

cans -- check your canned goods department to see if maybe it's there

but you just never noticed before (???).

Georgina also asked for a tahini recipe. I just buy tahini in a can

(Joyva brand). Do you mean a recipe for the actual tahini itself or for

sauce or recipes using tahini? I think I may even have info on how to

make the actual tahini. I'll check and post whatever I have.
