Guest guest
I guess Kathleen & I are the only ones with this cookbook. Here's another recipe from it. I made changes in it when I made this, but noted what the original ingredients & amounts were. * Exported from MasterCook * Smoky Black Bean Chili Recipe By : adapted from Lorna Sass' Short Cut Vegetarian Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beans Soups & Stews Vegan Quick & Easy " Post " Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 15 oz. cans black beans -- rinsed & drained 2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes 1 cup salsa 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon dried oregano salt to taste 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro -- minced Combine beans, tomatoes, salsa, chilli powder, oregano, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally and add more salsa or water if becomes to dry or thick. Just before serving, add liquid smoke and cilantro. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : The original recipe called for 1 can of black beans, 1 cup of salsa, and no tomatoes. I increased the seasonings when I increased the other ingredients. This is my adaptation which increased the number of servings from 2 to 4..
