<s> Speaking of expensive, you couldn't have picked a more expensive grocery

store! <g>

There's a place called My Organic Market (MOMs) out near the restaurant I

suggested, The Vegetable Garden. It's fresh and friendly, with lots of bulk

items, too. There's the Bethesda Co-Op, which is also great.

There are so many neat places in Washington!! Get over to Adams Morgan. Cab

it or pay for parking, though. Do NOT trawl the neighborhoods for a parking

spot, because nothing other than the main intersection, 18th and Columbia

Rd. is save. But it's FUUUUNNNNN! Neat, avant garde night life and amazing

food.

You'll enjoy it here in the summer, although it's hotter than one can

imagine! <s>

Good luck. <s>

Re: College Veggies

Christine,

Thanks so much for the info. I have to say that I don't really go

out to eat a lot because a) Georgetown is pretty expensive and b) I

haven't really had a chance. But from what I've experienced, I have found

that what you said is true - Washington is pretty veg-friendly. I'm

staying for the summer, and my plan is to try a new restaurant every week,

with the hopes of finding good veggie options outside of Georgetown but

also in Georgetown (those excursions will have to be limited) There's one

place that I absolutely adore - Fresh Fields. Technically it's not a

restaurant, but I love it so much. Every time I go there I spend literally

hours looking at all the fresh vegetables, fruits, bulk grains,

mouth-watering breads - it's a vegetarian's heaven. We didn't have

anything like that back in my little New Hampshire town. So It's exciting

being here in Washington, where I know that I'll be able to have a lot of

options.

I appreciate any recommendations on restaurants and veg-friendly

places you ight have. I want to build up a store of places so I'll have

lots and lots of options.

Thanks again. - Tina
