Guest guest Posted May 19, 1999 Report Share Posted May 19, 1999 This is vegan if made with margarine and non-egg pasta. * Exported from MasterCook * Mushroom Stroganoff Recipe By : Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Vegan Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 onion -- thinly sliced 8 ounces sliced mushrooms 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1/4 cup vegetable broth freshly ground pepper to taste 1/4 cup white wine (optional) 8 ounces egg noodles or other wide pasta noodles Saute onions and mushrooms in melted butter. Add flour and cook until flour browns slightly. Add soy sauce, broth, and pepper to taste. Cook until the consistency of thick gravy. Add wine or more broth if needed. Meanwhile, cook pasta per package directions. Serve mushroom mixture over cooked pasta. Variation: Add a little sour cream for a richer, creamier sauce. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Recipe is vegan if other pasta noodles are used and not egg noodles.
