Guest guest
I am soooo upset. Someone once said that McDonalds sprays the french fries with beef fat, so I e-mailed them a few weeks ago and asked. The customer service rep just called me on the phone and said, well we don;t spray the fries with beef fat BUT we do use beef bouillon when we par-fry them before we freeze them!!! I was so upset cause I had gone to their web site and looked up the ingredients in the fries and it had no mention of it. I told her it should be included in the ingred. list as someone who may be allergic or something could eat them and not know. Oh well, I USED to take the kids like once a week as they will make grilled cheese sandwiches in the happy meals. Sorry for the ramble. deb

They tell you little things like which things are cooked in the same oil as meat, which things are vegan (including fastfood rolls/buns!), etc. I really enjoyed it. There are a few good recipes in there as well. Hope this helps. Patti
Guest guest
Thanks for informing us about this, Deb. I had *heard* for years that McDonald's did something like this with their fries, so I haven't eaten them in many *many* years. You're right about the allergy thing -- I know *2* people who have a severe allergy to meat products of any kind and will go into anaphylactic (am I spelling that right?) shock if they eat anything like this. Actually, one of those people is on this list! Maybe she will enlighten us some more (hint, hint) if she's not too busy (she's been very busy with work). The other person is the son-in-law of a close friend. As an example, if a utensil such as a spoon were to touch a meat product and then be used to serve his food -- he could go into anaphylactic shock!! It could actually kill him! He has to explain things very carefully when he eats out. I'm not normally a " dishonest " person, but I have sometimes used the " allergy ploy " when I realize that I am speaking to a server at a restaurant who does not understand the whole concept of vegetarianism. It is simpler and easier for them to understand to just tell them " I am allergic to ______ and can't eat anything that contains any products from ________. " I suggest Taco Bell for the kids! Keep in mind that the rice (in the veggie fajita wrap) contains either chicken broth or clam juice or something and their sour cream contains gelatin.
