Preheat oven to 350ø. 2. Combine milk, 1/2 cup sugar, and eggs in a large bowl; stir mixture well with a whisk. Add bread and bananas; toss gently to moisten. Cover and let stand 10 minutes. Spoon mixture into a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar evenly over bread mixture. Bake at 350ø for 25 minutes or until golden and set. Yield: 8 servings (serving size: about 3/4 cup).
