They are from an interesting site (URL is included in recipes) about the book Recipes For Life, a book produced for sale from charities. * Exported from MasterCook Buster * JACK NICKLAUS' GUACAMOLE DIP Recipe By : Recipes For Life Cookbook Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time : Categories : Avocados Chiles Appetizers Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 avocados -- peeled and stoned 1 medium onion -- chopped 2 green chillies -- deseeded and -- chopped 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper -- coarsely ground 4 tablespoons mayonnaise -- (to 8 tbsp), to -- taste 2 medium tomatoes -- skinned and finely -- chopped Tortilla chips -- to serve Put the avocados, onion, chillies, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a food processor or blender and process until creamy. Add the mayonnaise and process briefly, then turn the mixture into a bowl and stir in the chopped tomatoes. Cover and chill. Serve with tortilla chips. Serves 4 to 6 I got this from http://www.expressmedia.co.uk/malcrfl/ Busted by RisaG 6/9/99, Posted to MC-Recipe & Veg-Recipe 6/10/99 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - * Exported from MasterCook Buster * TOM HANKS CREAMY CHEESE CAKE Recipe By : Recipes for Life Cookbook Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time : Categories : Desserts Cheese Cakes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- ***FOR THE BASE*** 1 small packet digestive biscuits -- crumbled 1 tablespoon caster sugar 3 tablespoons butter -- melted ***FOR THE FILLING*** 3 ounces pkg cream cheese -- softened, up to 8 4 eggs 1 cup caster sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla essence ***FOR THE TOPPING*** 1/2 pint sour cream 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 tablespoon caster sugar For the filling, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until soft. Adds the eggs, sugar and vanilla and continue to mix for 5 minutes. Take the prepared base out of the fridge and pour the mixture into the pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 190C/375F for 50 to 55 minutes. For the topping, whip together the cream, vanilla and sugar. Spread generously on top of the hot cake and bake for 5 minutes. Allow to cool completely before chilling for several hours. Serve with your favourite fruit topping.
