Guest guest
Hi all, I realize this isn't exactly a vegetarian question, but since I suspect many of you may be quite knowledgeable about other matters of " health food " , I'm hoping you can help. I want to make some cookies with a bit more nutrition, and less empty calories. Using molasses or honey instead of sugar, things like that. Maybe with some wheat germ or some other healthy add-ins. I recently bought some grain-sweetened chocolate chips, to cut down on the white sugar. I also picked up some blackstrap molasses. Will this be too strong a taste for cookies? How about substituting honey for white sugar in recipes? Any ideas, tips and recipes will be greatly appreciated. (My dad is a diabetic, too, so once I find a really great recipe, I'd like to make him some for a treat.) Thanks in advance! Wendi P.S. Sorry for not posting a recipe; all of the good vegetarian recipes I've had lately, I got from this list!!
Guest guest
I have discovered from making regular cookies, that cinnamon and cloves always need to be added to the batter or it comes out tasting like cardboard. So, when you get that perfect recipe, be sure and add the spices! Holly
