In a large bowl, combine onion, sweet potatoes, prunes, and apricots. In a small bowl, combine orange and lemon juices, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; mix until smooth. Pour sauce over sweet potato mixture and toss to coat. Transfer to casserole, sprinkle with brown sugar, and dot with butter. In large saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in butter or margarine until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add sweet potatoes and carrots. Cook, stirring often, for 7 minutes. Add pineapple, prunes, water and cinnamon. Stir well. Cook until sweet potatoes are soft, 20 to 30 minutes. Add more water if necessary to prevent sticking. Season with salt and pepper.
