Frosty Berry Smoothie

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 1/2 cups apple juice

1 cup frozen raspberries

1 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup skim milk -- optional

1 small banana

1 teaspoon sugar -- optional

1/2 cup crushed ice

 

Serves 2 to 4.

 

Combine apple juice, raspberries, blueberries, milk, banana, sugar and ice

in blender and puree until smooth.

 

Pour into tall chilled glasses.

Hawaiian Heart Smoothie

1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries

1 mango -- peeled and cubed

1 1/2 cups pineapple juice

1/2 cup orange juice

preferably fresh squeezed

1 small banana

1/2 cup vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt

1/4 cup crushed ice

 

Serves 2 to 4.

 

This smoothie emerges from the blender a bright pink and seductively sweet

from the mango. Combine strawberries, mango, pineapple juice, orange

juice, banana, yogurt and ice in blender and puree until smooth.

 

Pour into tall chilled glasses.

Pineapple-Yogurt Smoothie

1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt

1 cup chilled pineapple juice

2 cups pineapple chunks -- (fresh or canned)

1 small banana

1 sprig fresh mint leaves

 

Serves 2 to 4.

 

In blender, puree yogurt, juice, pineapple, and banana until very smooth.

 

Pour into tall glasses and garnish with mint sprigs.
