Guest guest
Here's tofu recipe for kids who don't like " stuff " on it. :-) Deanne * Exported from MasterCook * TOFU Made Easy Recipe By : Deanne Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : American Supper Tofu Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound tofu, extra firm olive oil salt & pepper to taste Wrap tofu in clean, white paper towels (or a clean cloth dishtowel), and let sit for about 15 minutes. You may also weight it down by placing a plate or cutting board over it and then putting a bag of flour or something heavy on top, but you don't have to do this. Slice the tofu into cubes or little slices. I often cut it into thirds lengthwise, and then slice. TO BAKE: Lightly oil a glass baking dish. Place the tofu in the baking dish. Sprinkle lightly with salt & pepper. You can also sprinkle with other seasonings such as garlic power, onion powder, or whatever you like. Bake at 350 - 400 (depending on what else you might be baking at the same time) for about 10 - 15 minutes, then check. You may need to turn and bake a little longer. TO FRY: Lightly oil a nonstick frying pan. Place the tofu slices in the pan and sprinkle with salt & pepper and any other seasonings desired. Lightly brown on both sides. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : This is a recipe for my son who loves tofu, but hates just about everything made with tofu! :-) He likes just plain tofu. Whenever I make a tofu dish for the rest of us, I just cook a pound of tofu for him, plain. He's only 10, but he almost always eats the whole pound in one sitting. :-)
