Guest guest Posted September 7, 1999 Report Share Posted September 7, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook * Apple Bread a la Horn of the Moon Recipe By :Horn of the Moon Cookbook, Ginny Callan Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Restaurant Sweet Bread Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 cup butter -- softened 2/3 cup honey 2 eggs 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 2 tablespoons milk 3/4 cup chopped walnuts -- or pecans 2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped unpeeled apples Cream butter and honey. Add eggs, then flour, salt, baking powder, and milk, adding nuts and apples last, and mix well. Pour into oiled 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees or until golden and toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then use a knife around edges to loosen before removing from pan. 8 servings.
